INTERCEPTION WITH JENSEN INTERCEPTOR

On Wednesday 22 October, Melkweg transforms into the beating heart of International Chrome — the label founded by Jensen Interceptor — as he brings his new album INTERCEPTION to life in a special live show. A mix of electro, techno and breaks forms the foundation for an evening that not only celebrates Jensen’s musical evolution, but also the boundary-pushing spirit and artistic vision of his label. For the occasion, he’s joined by YAZZUS and Retromigration — together delivering a powerful line-up bursting with forward-thinking club energy.

In the lead-up to the label night during ADE, we sat down with Jensen to talk about his latest album and the artists joining him on the line-up.

    The Rebirth of Jensen Interceptor

Jensen Interceptor’s new album INTERCEPTION, released on 11 September 2025 via his own label International Chrome, marks both a reckoning and a rebirth — a record in which he intercepts the many threads of his musical past to forge something alien yet entirely new.

"I can’t wait to bring our Chrome showcase to ADE this year! I’ll be performing my new album INTERCEPTION live. Expect nothing but sexy high energy and playful chaos!"

The recognisable purity of his electro identity gives way to something more complex: fractured IDM textures, footwork rhythms, deep bass and the occasional touch of baile funk. The album was born out of a forced pause following a serious foot injury in 2024 that brought his touring schedule to a halt. During that time, Melas delved deep into his influences, dismantled his own expectations and allowed the music to explore new directions. You can hear it in tracks like Soft Portal and New Way. With INTERCEPTION, Jensen not only evolves but also reinterprets motifs from his past through a new, futuristic lens.

"Joining me is two modern forces of dance and rhythm — Retromigration and Yazzus. They will be flipping the room with their nonstop bass, footwork, techno, and everything in between!"

    The line-up: Yazzus and Retromigration

Alongside Jensen Interceptor, his labelmates bring their own visions of the future to the dance floor. From her base in Berlin, British-Ghanaian artist YAZZUS channels a wide range of influences into an energetic, spiritual sound. Her sets are a ritual where the raw intensity of ’90s and ’00s rave culture meets a sensual, Afrofuturist flair. Retromigration, operating between Berlin and Amsterdam, complements that energy with warm grooves and refined productions. With releases on labels such as Wolf Music, Rhythm Section and Handy Records, he moves fluidly between hip-hop, jazz, soul and funk — a versatile artist who seeks out uncharted territory without ever losing his sense of flow.
