MELKWEG CELEBRATES 20 YEARS OF 'DAVE CLARKE PRESENTS'
What began as a forward-thinking techno night has, two decades later, become the longest-running event at ADE — a cornerstone of the festival. Read on to find out why.
On July 17, we turn 55. And as is tradition on your birthday: we're treating you.
That same day, we're hosting a special lunch for people currently on the waiting list for gender-affirming care. A moment for connection, sharing experiences, and highlighting stories that too often remain unheard.
Following the lunch, we open two exhibitions exploring queer identity. In collaboration with Pride Photo, we present Legacies of Identity: Queer Histories of Third Genders – an international exhibition spotlighting LGBTQIA+ communities in which third-gender and transgender people hold a recognized place.
Meanwhile, our café space will host On Hold, a solo exhibition by Prins de Vos, winner of the 2025 World Press Photo Contest. The series features poignant portraits of people in the Netherlands awaiting access to gender-affirming care.
That evening, our anniversary celebrations continue with a sold-out show by Tinlicker – where visitors will also be welcomed with a summery treat.
The exhibitions are free to visit from July 17 through August 24.
