After their first European tour supporting Molchat Doma, Urban Heat returns to the Netherlands for a show at Pretty Pissed! This Texas-based post-punk trio was formed in 2019 when multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Jonathan Horstmann joined forces with Kevin Naquin and Paxel Foley to bring his analog sound design to lifeon stage. The band fuses Horstmann’s commanding baritone with melodic darkwave, layered synths, andpunchy modern punk beats.

With a distinctive blend of ‘80s influences and contemporary energy, Urban Heat leaves a lasting impression —perfectly captured on their new album The Tower, a compelling record infused with elements of new wave, goth, and post-punk.

On Saturday, May 24, Melkweg presents Pretty Pissed—a night full of (post-)punk in the broadest sense of the genre, as long as it’s angry! Get swept away by the energy of gritty guitars, relentless drums, and raw, heartfelt lyrics—plus, we’re not afraid to throw in some electronic beats!
