From busking on the streets of Belfast to touring with Sting, The Darkness and The Beaches: it sounds like a dream — and that’s exactly the success story of rock duo Dea Matrona.The band, consisting of Mollie McGinn and Orláith Forsythe, have recently been working on their second album, ‘Hate That I Care’, which was released this year. On this record, Dea Matrona sound darker than on their debut ‘For Your Sins’.
Their alternative rock evokes Fleetwood Mac stepping into the studio with The Cranberries in 2026. With their rock-inspired sound, the album is both their most personal and most political work to date, featuring tracks like ‘Americana’.
In spring 2027, Dea Matrona will return to Amsterdam following their sold-out show at Rotown.
